City of Dreams, located in the heart of Cotai in Macao, is a unique integrated entertainment resort that combines electrifying entertainment, a diverse array of accommodation, regional and international dining, designer-brand shopping, and a spacious and contemporary gaming area. This new fifth hotel tower at City of Dreams – Morpheus, named after the God of Dreams, will be complemented by guest facilities exceeding 5-star hotel standards.
The hotel design is led by Zaha Hadid, founder of Zaha Hadid Architects and recipient of the 2004 Pritzker Architecture Prize. This world-leading architectural masterpiece at City of Dreams is destined to become an icon in the Macao skyline and to set a new benchmark for a contemporary ultra-luxurious hospitality experience.
Dragages Hong Kong is responsible for the construction of this one-of-a-kind hotel, which represents the realisation of a “dream” building. The volume is emphasised with the use of an exposed exoskeleton mesh structure. The expressed structure defines a sensuous and intriguing form while also providing the construction advantage of contributing to the building’s lateral stability, reducing the internal structural requirements and optimising the interior layout.
Morpheus comprises two towers with a total of 39 floors, connected at both the podium levels and the roof. A series of voids gives it sophistication and volume along with a distinctive appearance as well as exciting internal space.
A comprehensive variety of facilities will be on offer at Morpheus, including approximately 770 guest rooms along with suites, sky villas and duplex villas and an infinity swimming pool some 130 metres above the ground.
