31 May 2021

On 15 April 2021, the new Airport Authority Office Tower project marked a major milestone with a topping-out ceremony. Representatives from Dragages Hong Kong, Airport Authority, BYME Engineering Hong Kong and other project partners witnessed this major achievement together.

The seven-storey office tower is the seventh construction project of Dragages Hong Kong on the airport island. The scope of the project not only includes the construction of the office tower, but also the interior design of the office. Upon completion, the new Airport Authority Office Tower will have approximately 23,000 m2 construction floor area and will house the new office tower of Airport Authority Hong Kong and Aviation Security Company Limited (AVSECO). In order to facilitate a modern way of working for the office users, the new office will be refurbished with a contemporary and moderate design. It will form a highly collaborative, open and spacious work environment equipped with smart office furniture and plenty of pocket spaces.

This project is also the first one to adopt NEC4 Option D Target Cost in Hong Kong. ‘Over the past two years, we are glad that the mutual trust and communications between Airport Authority and Dragages Hong Kong at both project and management levels have been well established.’ said Pierre-Eric SAINT-ANDRÉ, Chairman and CEO of Bouygues Bâtiment International and Chairman of Dragages Hong Kong, on the ceremony. ‘The guidance, foresight and wisdom from our clients has helped smooth our way towards completion of the project.’

Pierre-Eric also congratulated the project team on successfully delivering the project swiftly and safely, despite the project site’s proximity to the airport express railway and the taxi station, the airport height restriction, and the challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. The project had previously earned the “TOPSITE Innovation” label for its achievement in project quality, customer satisfaction, innovative good practices.
