The project comprises the design and construction of a dual two-lane trunk road, including an approximately 4.8 km long tunnel linking up the proposed Sha Tau Kok Road interchange and Fanling Highway interchange; three ventilation buildings; and
an administration building.
To cope with various ground conditions along the
4.8 km route, a combination of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), and drill and blast solutions will be adopted.
A dual mode Earth Pressure Balanced (EPB) TBM will be used for the construction of the tunnels in the northern section, where various fault zones are located. By using our in-house innovations of MOBYDIC and SNAKE, the TBM will feature real-time geological mapping of rock faces, and the detection of damaged cutter head components. Meanwhile, drill and blast will be implemented in rock zones in the southern section.
To tunnel through the first 500m of the enlarged section from the North Portal in soft ground will present great challenges. A pilot tunnel will be bored by using the TBM, followed by enlargement works to be conducted by traditional soft ground tunnelling method.
Caring for the needs of the community is an integral part of our project works. A Community Liaison Group, comprising both engineers and community liaison officers, are working hand in hand with our supervising officer and the client to keep local residents informed of key production activities, and to address their concerns in a prompt and efficient manner.

鑑於全長4.8公里的路段土質多變,寶嘉將綜合 採用隧道鑽挖機及鑽挖爆破方法。因應隧道北段 有多個斷層區,工程人員會以雙模式土壓平衡隧道 鑽挖機施工,透過寶嘉自行研製的器材MOBYDIC 及SNAKE,隧道鑽挖機能即時勘察石面的情況, 以及偵測鑽頭零件的損壞程度。團隊同時會採用 鑽挖爆破方法,開鑿隧道南段的岩石層。
本項目的一大挑戰是如何在北隧道入口首500米 鬆軟土壤開挖出寬敞的進口。工程人員會先利用 隧道鑽挖機挖出一段隧道導洞,再透過傳統在鬆軟 土壤建造隧道的方法,開拓空間。
寶嘉一直關顧工地毗鄰社區的需要。一組由工程 人員及社區聯絡主任聯合組成的社區聯絡團隊, 與監督主任及客戶緊密合作,確保區內居民適時掌握 主要的施工安排,迅速回應他們所關注的事項。
